Security Integration Consultation:
Hardware Specialist Consultant - Tony Samson
As a hardware specialist consultant I bring twenty five years of experience working in the hardware industry, as well as years of experience in long term care facilities. The Good Samaritan Society, Covenant Health, Keeweetinok Lakes High Prairie, Everglades Special Care Lodge to name a few. I have worked as a locksmith, hardware installer, integrator, and an alarm and controls technician. Over the course of my career I have also worked as an estimator, technical manager, and as an operations manager. I have been involved and been tasked with every phase of construction in regards to doors, hardware and their integration. My customers have always been the most important to me when I was an installer and I now make every effort to foster and support this value system within the company.
Consulting with Stakeholders
Working with, and advising all stakeholders. Owners, designers, architects, builders, and trades to ensure a streamlined installation of both electrified, and mechanical hardware. Having been an installer I am able to bring the virtual world of designs in touch with real world applications.
Project co-ordination
Conveying modes of operation to all stakeholders and that they are properly understood through meetings, e-mails, phone calls, and follow ups. Ensuring all hardware selected is compliant with its intended use, and that there are no duplication of products or services amongst competing trades. This happens more often than not, and creates unnecessary cost over runs. As well, ensuring all aspects of work required is being supplied. An example of a problem typically arising is the access control provider, hardware supplier, and the electrical contractor did not include the supply, and installation of low voltage cabling in their contracts. Electricians often quote to provide conduit to the door only, while all other related trades choose to NIC the cabling in their qualifications. This oversight can be a cause for delay’s, unforeseen costs, and great frustration.
Quality control inspections as needed with follow up written reports to the site superintendant so as to prevent errors or emissions on the site.
Complete OEM manuals including elevation, riser, and point to point wiring diagrams. This is a critical service as it allows everyone the ability to get on the same page, thereby saving time, money and frustration. At the end of the project these manuals are updated for any changes that have occurred during the course of construction, and left with the owner on site as a reference for future service work.
